[09 FEB 01] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Men Attack Staff At Coventry Firm

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after two men broke into a Coventry business and confronted staff.

The incident happened just before 6pm on Tuesday at Clear Sound Alarms in Lockhurst Lane, Coventry.

Two men forced the front door and confronted staff. They then went to an office where there were two members of staff, both men, aged 37 and 38.

One of the two men in the office shut the door and the two offenders then started kicking the door, trying to open it.

However they did not manage to get into the office and made off empty-handed leaving in a dark coloured Peugeot car.

One man was described as being black, aged late teens to early 20s, 5ft 11ins to 6ft tall and wearing a black hooded jacket with purple stripes. The hood of the jacket was up with the black peak of a baseball cap protruding. He also wore a black scarf around his face and black jeans.

The other man was of mixed race, aged about 20, 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a black knitted hat, black coat, black scarf and black gloves.

No-one was injured but the members of staff were very shaken.

DC Shaun Garnham from the Bell Green sector is investigating and appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

People are asked to contact police at Stoney Stanton Road police station on 024 7653 9020.
