Coventry Teenager
Murdered At City House
An
18-year-old man was murdered in Coventry last night when he was
stabbed following an altercation at a house in the city.
Police
were called at about 10.25pm to reports of a man with stab wounds
at Salford Close, Stoke.
When
officers arrived, ambulance staff were trying to resuscitate the
teenager, who had suffered serious stab wounds to the back. The
man died upon arrival at hospital.
A
post mortem into his death will be carried out today to ascertain
the exact cause of death.
Two
men have been arrested and are currently helping police with their
enquiries at Chace Avenue police station.
It
is believed that the man had been visiting the address in Salford
Close with a friend when there was an altercation inside.
Supt
Bob Minshull from Stoney Stanton Road police station said:
"We
are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything to contact us
at the incident room.
"It
may be that the murder weapon, believed to be a six inch bladed
knife, has been discarded somewhere near to Salford Close and we
shall be carrying out a search this morning in and around the
area to try and find it.
"We
would ask that if anybody sees this weapon that they do not
touch it but that they call the police immediately.
"We
shall also be looking for any clothing with blood stains on
it."
"Scenes
of Crime Officers, forensic staff and the OSU will be working in
and around the area this morning gathering any evidence. We
shall also be carrying out house to house enquiries."
