Wallemme became the first
Frenchman to sign for the Sky Blues when he moved for £500,000 this summer at the end of
a highly successful year.
The centre-half joined Lens from school and made his debut against Paris St Germain in
November 1986. He then captained the club from his early 20s and signed off by lifting the
French Championship.
He is a tough-tackling player who is realising his lifetime ambition by appearing in
the Premiership.
