[06 OCT 00] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Masked Men Attack Village Bookies

Two masked men stole cash from a bookmakers in north Warwickshire yesterday.

They entered the shop in New Street, Dordon at 10.30am armed with a knife and a large hammer.

The pair, both masked and wearing black clothes, jumped over the counter and took a large quantity of cash.

The female cashier was unhurt in the incident, but was left “extremely shaken”, according to police.

It is thought that the attacker escaped in a blue Honda Civic, possibly G-reg, which may have had a large amount of primer on the driver’s side.

The car was driven down Kitwood Avenue towards Tamworth.

Anyone who saw where the car went afterwards, or who may have seen it parked near the bookmakers for up to 40 minutes before the attack should call Nuneaton detectives on 01926 415000.
