[23 MAR 00] WEBCAM VIEWS

Personally I prefer to see Lady Godiva looking down on the shopping centre as living in Austalia I can arrange for members of my family to be standing by the statue waving to me whilst I watch on my computer at home. It's GREAT!!!

But I really like the Peeping Tom picture as well so please don't alter that either.

Keep up the good work it really is fantastic!!!

[20 MAR 00] ST JOHN VIANNEY & BISHOP ULLATHORNE

I am trying to contact some old school friends in Coventry.

I attended St John Vianney RC School in Mount Nod (1979-1985) and then Bishop Ullathorne School (1985-1991).

People I would like to hear from include:

  • Neil Hallinan
  • Matthew O’Sulivan
  • Khai Tran
  • Kevin Warr

Or anyone that was in the "V" group throughout Ullathorne during this time. Mr Carpenter was my form tutor in the last year. Everyone else seemed to either stay on or take A levels or work. I left and went to Henley College for two years (1991-1993). I am now living in Toronto, Canada and would love to hear from anyone that remembers me or anyone mentioned above.

I hope to hear from someone soon.

[18 MAR 00] LOOKING FOR TEENAGERS LEARNING SPANISH

My name is Millaray Trapp, and I'm teaching English as a second language in Chile.

I want to make contact with native speakers of English, who are learning Spanish as a second language. The idea is to write both in English and Spanish. My students are 14 and 15 years old and I've got 35. We can work in pairs or groups.

I'm from Temuco a southern city located in Chile, South America.

[11 MAR 00] HIGHAM LANE HIGH SCHOOL REUNION

G'day my friend I'm Craig Cartwright and I am nearly 40.

I heard a rumour a few years ago that my old school mates from Highham Lane High School in Nuneaton were going to have a school reunion to celebrate 25 years leaving school. Anyone know if this is true?

Does anyone out there know a girl, now woman, whose maiden name was Anne Grindle?

I went to St Nicolas Park primary school in Nuneaton until 1970 when I moved up to Higham Lane High School.

I left the area in 1990 and now live in Melbourne.

[11 MAR 00] MR HALLIWELL'S 1935 MG

Dear Sir

I am writing to you from Prairie Village, Kansas, USA in the hope your website might be the vehicle to help me locate a bit of local history.

I have recently purchased a 1935 MG which I am having completely restored.

The car was originally purchased by one Mr H Halliwell Esq, 32 Rotherham (?) Road, on 1 March 1935. A later address seems to be 5 Giles, Warwick Road, Copt Heath. I apologize if I have misspelled but the records are quite tattered.

I'm trying to locate anyone, relative, etc, who might tell something about the owner, car's history/pictures, etc, and how it came to be in California, where I purchased it.

Thank you

[05 MAR 00] THE BROADGATE WEBCAM

Many thanks for the webcam, we can keep in touch with what's going on and as we live in Canada, keeps us closer to home.

Any chance that other areas of Coventry may be included in the future?

Keep up the good work, CWN is the best for keeping up with local events.
