Every
Wednesday evening for two years there has been a vigil outside the Belgrade Theatre from
5pm to 7pm calling for an end to the sanctions against Iraq. This will be a special vigil
for the women in Iraq, 70% of whom are suffering from anaemia according to a UN report in
April 1999. 5,000 Iraqi children are dying every month as a direct result of the
sanctions. Both men and women are welcome to attend the candlelit vigil. |
