                SEP 00] FUEL PROTESTS
Kingsbury Protestors Depart With A Warning

                Fuel
protesters in Kingsbury have ended their blockade but have
warned they could return at an hour’s notice if their demands
                are ignored.
                The
truckers and farmers outside the north Warwickshire oil terminal
decided to call off their protest at 10am this morning.
                But
one protestor told BBC Radio WM that they would quickly return
if the government failed to act.
                He
                said:

                  "We've
won the battle but we've just got to win the war. The
Government has 60 days. We have got a network of mobile
phones. We could put another protest together in an hour.
                  "It
will be every oil terminal in the country and will be bigger
                  and better."

                Tankers
are now rolling for the plant, but it is expected to be some
time before supplies to the general public are available.
                A
list of designated petrol stations has been produced for people
working in the emergency services to get fuel.
                The
list does not guarantee that they have fuel, and people who
qualify for the fuel should ring them beforehand.
                There
are 29 in Warwickshire, and 13 in Coventry. For a full list go
                to www.dti.gov.uk/energy/motorfuel.htm
                Note
that the Coventry stations are listed under “West Midlands”
                and not “Warwickshire”.
