 Work-based
training will help equip people with the skills, knowledge and information to enable them
to have a greater choice in the type of jobs available. The number of people acquiring
this training will therefore be a measure of their quality of life.
The popularity of work-based training
increased this year after a three year decline and more students found work in jobs with
training than last year. The number of students going into jobs without training shows a
slight drop for the third year running.
There has also been a reduction in the
number of unemployed school leavers since 1990.
